Pukeatua School Mission / Vision Statement
"Actively striving to be the best we can be"
"Kia pokaikaha tatou ka ea
Kia kaha, kia maia, kia manawanui"
Pukeatua believes in respect for all.
This means “kind hands, kind feet and kind words at school”.
A simple but an effective message.
We are proactive around bullying and will not tolerate it.
As parents, if you hear or know something is happening and upsetting your child, please let us know. Ring us. If we know about it then we can do something about it.
Your child comes to school to learn in a happy and safe environment.
We will work with you to achieve this.
Our values are the important qualities that we try to live by.
We show these in the way we as people (both staff and pupils) go about in our work and in our relationships within our school, community and wider world.
Whakaute (Respect)
Treat others how you want to be treated.
Manaakitanga (Caring & Sharing)
Be caring and thankful for everything in our world
Ngana (Commitment)
Always try your best, never give up.
Tuakiri (Identity)
Be proud of who you are and where you come from.
Each class teaches what these values means for them and those around them at school. We encourage our students to express these values at home and in the community.
These values are celebrated at school through class, school, and team awards, at assemblies in front of whanau, at Principal’s termly values celebration and at end of year prize givings.
Pukeatua is a Positive Behaviour For Learning School
The purpose of Positive Behaviour For Learning (PB4L) is implemented through the modelling, teaching and practicing of our school values:
Whakaute, Manaakitanga, Tuakiri and Ngana.
We will create a safe, positive and rewarding learning environment for all.
We will build and maintain positive relationships that encourage our students to become independent, active and engaged life long learners.
Students will experience the celebration of success.
