Breakfast Club runs daily from 8:00am to 8:50am. Students are welcome to enjoy a healthy breakfast including Weet-Bix, cereal, fruit, toast with butter and jam, as well as milk and juice.
Road Patrol: The school has trained road patrollers on the Frederick Street crossing.
Teachers and parent volunteers supervise these patrols.
Parents are urged to support the school safety practices by not parking on the yellow lines and role modelling the use of the pedestrian crossings.
Pukeatua competes in the following Wainuiomata School Zone sports events at the Year 5/6 level.

Kapa Haka is an important part of our school’s cultural programme, giving students the opportunity to learn and celebrate Māori language, culture, and traditions. Through regular practice and performances, students develop confidence, teamwork, and pride in their identity while sharing their learning with the wider school and community. Participation in Kapa Haka also strengthens students’ understanding of tikanga, waiata, and mōteatea, enriching their connection to Aotearoa’s bicultural heritage.
Garden to Table is a charitable trust that helps primary and intermediate schools, as well as kura, bring learning into the garden and kitchen. Their programmes teach thousands of Kiwi children valuable knowledge and skills that positively impact their hauora (wellbeing) and the world around them.
The Garden to Table process includes:

Our Japanese language programme gives students the opportunity to explore a new language and culture, developing communication skills and global awareness. Through listening, speaking, reading, and writing activities, students learn to express themselves in Japanese while gaining an understanding of Japanese customs, traditions, and everyday life.
Learning Japanese also encourages problem-solving, cultural empathy, and confidence in using a second language, preparing students to engage with the wider world and appreciate cultural diversity.
Every Tuesday, students take part in Rotary Readers, where they read books with volunteers in a supportive and engaging environment.
Every Wednesday, students take part in Maths Acceleration sessions designed to strengthen and extend their mathematical understanding.
Our bake sales are held to raise funds and support school and community initiatives.
School lunches, fruit, bread, and community-donated food are readily available for families to access and take home.
Blake VR provides students with immersive virtual reality learning experiences that bring classroom topics to life.
Pedal Ready supports students to learn how to ride bikes safely and confidently, while also introducing basic bike maintenance skills.
